Every winter lung conditions are the biggest cause of A&E admissions and NHS winter pressures. Yet every year the NHS responds in crisis mode without tackling the root cause of the problem.
The Welsh Government launched their Quality Statement for Respiratory Disease three years ago, but it has still not been fully implemented. There are no targets, no timelines, and lung conditions aren’t seen as a priority for health boards.
